Job Description

BMC is looking for a talented Devops Engineer to join our family who are just as passionate about solving issues with distributed systems as they are to automate, code and collaborate to tackle problem.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

As a DevOps engineer with experience in Linux systems you will be networking, monitoring and automation, containerization, cloud technologies etc., and a proven interest and experience in using software engineering to solve operational problems.
Support the deployment and operations of cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure and applications.
Assist in automating repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Python or Bash.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and improvements using tools like Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
Participate in system monitoring and incident response processes using ELK Stack, Prometheus, or similar tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and improve automation, reliability, and performance.
Learn and grow in areas like container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Dockers warm, Openshift), infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Work closely with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices.

To ensure youre set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

6- 8 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure role. Thorough understanding of logging and monitoring tools ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
Solid understanding of Linux system administration and basic networking.
Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.).
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to monitoring/logging tools like ELK Stack, Grafana, or Prometheus.
You have experience using a Public Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure or OpenStack. AWS is preferred.
You have experience working remotely with a fully distributed team, with the communication and adaptability it requires.
You have experience mentoring and helping folks grow their abilities to use/contribute to the tooling you help build and experience with building public cloud agnostic software
