Desktop Support Engineer

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for handling daily technical support activities related to desktop support, data network, and server management. Your primary duties will include setting up desktop computers, peripherals, and testing network connections. Additionally, you will be tasked with installing and maintaining hardware, computer peripherals, operating systems, and software, along with resolving associated issues. You will troubleshoot basic IT problems, networking and connection issues, as well as hardware and software issues. Furthermore, your role will involve installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment such as routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP. Identifying and resolving any computer network and system problems, maintaining and upgrading equipment, and assisting new employees in setting up their workstations will also be part of your responsibilities. You will provide guidance on software and hardware upgrades, interact with staff to resolve desktop issues, and train end users on computer hardware and software usage. Adhering to corporate policies, extending computer support for systems software and hardware, monitoring desktop infrastructure performance, and making suggestions for efficiency improvements will be integral to your role. In terms of skills, you should possess advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, memory modules, peripherals, operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems. Previous experience as a desktop support engineer or support technician, the ability to solve complex hardware and software issues, and knowledge of network security practices are essential. Proficiency in performing remote troubleshooting, providing clear instructions, and staying updated on the latest IT trends is required. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are also key to success in this role. Ideally, you should have a Post Graduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, along with 1-2 years of relevant work experience. The job is full-time with a morning shift from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The salary offered is 20,000 per month.
