Job Summary:

Designer / CAD Pattern Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pattern Development & CAD Operations

    • Create accurate digital paper patterns for woven and knitted garments using CAD software (Morgan, Gerber, Lectra, Tukatec, or equivalent).
    • Modify and adapt existing patterns based on design or fit adjustments.
    • Perform grading across multiple sizes while maintaining design proportions and technical integrity.
    • Generate markers, nests, and cutting layouts ensuring minimal fabric wastage and optimal efficiency.
  2. Fabric & Digital Printing Coordination

    • Work closely with textile design and printing teams to ensure pattern alignment, print placement, and repeat accuracy.
    • Interpret digital print layouts in relation to garment patterns for accurate placement during cutting and stitching.
  3. Production Interface

    • Collaborate with the cutting, stitching, and quality teams to ensure CAD patterns translate accurately into production garments.
    • Provide technical guidance to sampling and production units on pattern-related challenges.
    • Review fit samples, identify pattern-related issues, and implement necessary corrections.
  4. Process & Efficiency Improvement

    • Continuously improve marker efficiency and fabric consumption through CAD optimization techniques.
    • Maintain and update digital libraries of base patterns, size sets, and marker templates.
    • Support implementation of digital workflows between design, printing, and manufacturing departments.
  5. Documentation & Quality

    • Ensure all CAD data, patterns, and technical documents are properly saved, version-controlled, and traceable.
    • Verify accuracy of all specifications before handover to production.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    Diploma or Degree in

    Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, Textile Engineering

    , or related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum

    37 years

     of experience in garment CAD pattern making and production support, preferably in a

    digital printing / garment manufacturing

     setup.
  • Software Expertise:

    Hands-on experience with at least one of the following CAD systems:
    • Morgan

    • Gerber AccuMark

    • Lectra Modaris / Diamino

    • Tukatech TUKAcad

  • Technical Skills:

    • Pattern making, grading, and marker efficiency optimization.
    • Understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior, shrinkage, and print alignment.
    • Strong grasp of

      fabric to garment workflow

       including digital print integration, cutting, sewing, and finishing.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
