Job Description – Modular Office Furniture Designer (SketchUp Specialist)

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Modular Office Furniture Designer with strong expertise in SketchUp and knowledge of modular furniture systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, visualizing, and developing innovative workspace solutions that align with client requirements, ergonomic standards, and modern office trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, layouts, and renderings of modular office furniture using SketchUp (and related plugins).
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings (plans, elevations, sections) for production and client presentations.
• Collaborate with the sales, production, and project teams to develop cost-effective and functional design solutions.
• Customize modular furniture designs as per client specifications, space planning needs, and brand aesthetics.
• Ensure designs comply with ergonomic standards, safety guidelines, and material feasibility.
• Stay updated with latest trends in modular furniture design, office interiors, and innovative materials.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD (added advantage).
• Strong knowledge of modular office furniture design, ergonomics, and space planning.
• Creativity with attention to detail and functionality.
• Ability to prepare accurate working drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
• Problem-solving attitude with ability to handle multiple projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in designing modular office furniture (freshers with strong portfolio may also apply).
• Hands-on experience in office furniture projects (workstations, partitions, chairs, storage, etc.).
• Knowledge of materials (wood, laminates, metals, glass, fabrics, etc.) used in modular furniture manufacturing.
