Howrah, West Bengal Job Description Role: Designer Key Responsibilities Design and Concept: Develop and sketch original design ideas for women apparels Create mood boards and other visuals to communicate design concepts. Research current fashion trends and anticipate future directions. Fabric and Accessories Selection: Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials based on design aesthetics and functionality. Understand fabric properties and how they interact with other materials. Pattern Making and Sampling: Develop patterns and oversee the creation of prototype garments. Work with pattern makers and sample developers tailors to ensure quality. Supervision: Supervise the final production of designs, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with production teams and karigars. Communication and Collaboration: Present design ideas to stakeholders and incorporate feedback. Work closely with production, procurement other teams. Skills Creative Vision: Ability to generate innovative and original design ideas. Technical Skills: Proficiency in sketching, pattern making, and garment construction. Fashion Knowledge: Understanding of current trends, styles, and materials. Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with teams and stakeholders. Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure quality and accuracy in all aspects of the design process. Qualifications Bachelors degree in design or fine arts, or college degree in fashion design or related field. Experience: Minimum 5+ years design experience in a production set up. Other requirements: Availability to travel for research and product development. Ability to do sketches by hand. Excellent design and conceptual skills. Excellent sense of style and colour. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
