Design Specialist

As a member of the Engineering Department, you will be responsible for performing one of the following disciplines: shop drawings, 3D modeling, or fabrication drawings based on the outlined responsibilities and requirements. **Shop Drawings:** - Attend and actively participate in project-specific meetings to discuss various subjects related to project design, scope, and schedules. - Collaborate with Project Management team to create submittal drawings using computer-aided design software like AutoCAD and/or 3D software, including plans, elevations, sections, and necessary details. - Incorporate changes or modifications to drawings as directed by Engineering staff, Project Management, General Contractor, or Architect. **3D Modeling:** - Engage in project-specific meetings to discuss project design, scope, and schedules. - Develop three-dimensional models based on point cloud data collected on-site through laser scan technology. - Analyze the as-built structure for accuracy and identify deficiencies for review by Project Management. - Apply building panels to the point cloud per approved shop drawings, providing new or modified details as needed. - Produce a comprehensive set of drawings to guide field personnel in panel installation. **Fabrication Drawings:** - Prepare fabrication drawings for individual panels using approved shop drawings, design calculations, and the 3D model. - Collaborate with Project Managers on design enhancements and ideas for project improvement. - Assist in creating installation drawings for field personnel. **Required Skills & Abilities:** - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and PDF software (Bluebeam, Adobe). - Effective written and oral communication with in-house staff. - Ability to work efficiently in a challenging and time-sensitive environment. - Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and exactness. - Excellent time management and prioritization skills. **Preferred Skills & Abilities:** - Proficiency in 3D modeling software like Rhino, Revit, and Solidworks. - Familiarity with laser scanning technology and point cloud data is advantageous. - Experience in construction and/or manufacturing industries. - Ability to interpret Contract Documents such as architectural drawings and specifications. - Understanding of construction practices, principles, methods, and techniques. **Education:** - High School Diploma or GED required. - College graduate preferred.,
