Design Specialist

In this role, you will be part of the Engineering Department, responsible for one of the following disciplines: Shop Drawings, 3D Modeling, or Fabrication Drawings. Your main tasks will include: **Shop Drawings:** - Attend project-specific meetings to discuss various topics like project design, scope, and schedules. - Create submittal drawings using AutoCAD and/or 3D software in collaboration with Project Management. - Make changes to drawings as directed by Engineering staff, Project Management, General Contractor, or Architect. **3D Modeling:** - Participate in project meetings to discuss design and other relevant subjects. - Develop 3D models based on on-site point cloud data obtained through laser scan technology. - Analyze as-built structures to identify discrepancies and present them to Project Management. - Create detailed drawings to guide field personnel during panel installation. **Fabrication Drawings:** - Design fabrication drawings for individual panels based on approved shop drawings, design calculations, and 3D models. - Collaborate with Project Managers to enhance project conditions or installation. - Assist in creating installation drawings for field personnel. **Required Skills & Abilities:** - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF software. - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with in-house staff. - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. - Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial. - Excellent time management and prioritization skills. **Preferred Skills & Abilities:** - Familiarity with 3D modeling software like Rhino, Revit, and Solidworks. - Experience with laser scanning technology is a plus. - Background in construction and/or manufacturing industries. - Ability to interpret Contract Documents and architectural drawings. - Basic knowledge of construction practices and techniques. In addition to the technical skills, you should have a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for college graduates.,
