As a Design & Estimation Engineer, your primary role will involve preparing accurate cost estimates, developing technical designs, and supporting the project team in delivering competitive proposals and high-quality solutions. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between design intent and cost-effective project delivery to ensure client requirements are fully understood and met. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed designs based on client requirements and project specifications. - Develop technical shop drawings, detailed joinery drawings, and construction details for approval and production. - Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with standards. - Review material specifications, propose alternatives where required, and support value engineering initiatives. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and drawing logs. Estimation & Costing: - Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs for interior fit-out, joinery, or construction projects. - Analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope and requirements. - Conduct quantity take-offs and material analysis to support accurate pricing. - Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness. - Support in preparing tender submissions, commercial offers, and technical proposals. Technical Support & Coordination: - Support project managers and site teams by clarifying design and cost-related queries. - Attend site surveys and meetings as required to gather technical information and validate project scope. - Assist in preparing presentations and mock-ups for client approvals. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field. - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design and estimation for interior fit-out, joinery, or construction projects. - Strong understanding of interior finishes, materials, and production methods. - Proven ability to prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates. Skills: - Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other 3D design software; familiarity with Revit or similar BIM tools is a plus. - Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Strong analytical and numerical skills. - Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. - Excellent communication and coordination skills.
