Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support and guidance to the team, including execution strategies.
• Responsible for design verifications and design validations accordance with customer expectations.
• Identify necessary technical skills required in upcoming projects and opportunities. Structure training and ensure the team is sufficiently trained in time to breach this competency gap.
• Ensure timely completion of the teams deliverables for each work package, Project Milestones and tender proposals, within budget using both technical engineering and administrative skills.
• Facilitate and resolve escalated technical issues from the team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
• Experience in creating various product documentations like BoMs, SoPs, Release Notes, etc.
• Work closely with external vendors to implement solutions for integration of Robotic automated cells and lines.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Responsible for the assigned work from start (concept phase) till end (2D phase – 2D can be done by someone else, but the functionality is your responsibility).

Desired Knowledge

• Experience designing Body-In-White weld fixtures (Spot / Mig Welding)
• Understanding on OEM Standards (Daimler / MSIL / TATA / Mahindra etc.)
• Robotic gripper Y/ EOAT design.
• Preparation of Process Documentation.
• Understanding the Manufacturing Process.
• Design Knowledge in Machining / Welding / Assembly Fixtures.
• Selection of tools and standard parts for Jig & Fixture Design.
• 3D Design, 2D Detailing and BOM Generation of Jig & Fixtures
• Must be Quality Conscious and produce 100% defect free designs and drawings
• Hands on experience in Ergonomics study, datum strategy, weld gun selection, and weld distribution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of system engineering experience or relevant experience.
• Experience in computer-aided drafting and design with particular emphasis on CATIA V5 Y/ UG NX Y
• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), as the successful candidate will facilitate the link between Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain.
