Design Engineer

1. Drafting and Design Support

• Prepare and update

  2D engineering drawings

  using

  AutoCAD

  based on input from design engineers and project requirements.
• Develop

  GA (General Arrangement) drawings, wiring diagrams, busbar layouts, panel layouts

  , and

  fabrication drawings

  .
• Convert

  design sketches and specifications

  into detailed technical drawings.
• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure proper documentation control.
  

2. Technical Documentation

• Ensure that all drawings comply with

  company standards and industry norms

  (e.g., IS, IEC).
• Prepare

  BOMs (Bill of Materials)

  and assist in technical data sheets as required.
• Support preparation of

  as-built drawings

  and modification records.
• Coordinate with quality, production, and procurement teams for drawing clarifications.
  

3. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with

  design engineers

  to understand design concepts and technical details.
• Coordinate with the

  production department

  for dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve drawing or design discrepancies.
  

4. Quality and Process Compliance

• Adhere to

  document control procedures

  , maintaining proper drawing versions and archives.
• Conduct

  self-checking and peer reviews

  to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Support process improvements in drawing management and documentation systems.
  

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Draftsmanship / ITI in Drafting or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 24 years

  of experience in preparing 2D AutoCAD drawings, preferably in

  switchgear, panel board, or electrical equipment manufacturing

  .
• Experience in reading and interpreting

  electrical schematics, panel layouts

  , and

  mechanical drawings

  .

Technical Skills Required:

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD 2D

  drafting.
• Understanding of

  electrical drawings, wiring layouts, and mechanical fabrication details

  .
• Knowledge of

  engineering standards and tolerances

  .
• Familiarity with

  MS Office tools

  for documentation and reporting.
