Design Engineer - Plumbing / Firefighting

Role & responsibilities

Ensure accuracy and compliance of plumbing/fire-fighting drawings with project standards.

• Coordinate layouts with civil, architectural, HVAC, electrical, and ELV services.
• Resolve site issues and support smooth execution with contractors.
• Obtain drawing approvals, maintain drawing logs, and issue drawings to site.
• Manage ISO documentation and supplier records.
• Delegate and verify quantity take-offs.
• Monitor productivity and support quality assurance.
• Prepare record drawings and identify additional work requirements.

Key Skills

• Expertise in plumbing/fire-fighting systems: drainage, water supply, sanitary fittings, LPG/CNG/PNG, and fuel systems.
• Strong design skills in pipe sizing, tank sizing, and pump duty calculations.
• Familiarity with international and GCC codes, especially Dubai/Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Knowledge of related services: HVAC, electrical, and ELV.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and computer skills.
• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Active team player with leadership and training capabilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Mechanical / Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) / Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering along with: • Approved training in Plumbing / Fire Fighting Field Knowledge of BIM softwares such as Revit & Navisworks would be an advantage 10 years engineering experience with at least 2 years for a Graduate Engineer OR 15 years engineering experience with at least 4 years for Diploma Engineer in the preparation of air-conditioning construction drawings. • Minimum 2 years of experience in Site experience in installation / execution • Knowledge of Electrical & Plumbing / Fire Fighting systems would be an advantage • Hands on experience in Revit / Navisworks would be an advantage.
