Design Engineer - I

JOB TITLE: Design Engineer I DEPARTMENT: Engineering (Misc)

I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

• Modeling & detailing of Misc structural members, Handrails, Ladders, and Stairs. (3d Modeling, Erection Plans, detail Shop Drawings)
• Dimensioning, labeling, and digital documentation of technical documents in 2D/3D software
• Review, Study structural design drawings or detail drawings and other inputs to identify the extent/scope.
• Identify engineering questions/issues and communicate with the Engineer / Fabricator.
• Work with the team manager/leader to accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

II. Basic Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma/bachelors in civil or mechanical engineering
• 2 - 6 years of engineering/detailing experience (Industrial buildings, detailing of Stairs and handrails, platforms are preferred). AISC background is preferred.
• Understanding of Technical codes and OSHA regulations is a must.

III. Preferred Qualifications

A. Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to communicate (written & oral) in English.
• Ability to work Independent, reliable and flexible way of working
• Ability to produce details with nil / minimal checking required.
• Ability to work in the engineering group with minimal guidance.
• Ability to complete assigned activities in the schedule allotted.
• Good analytical skills and should be detail oriented.

B. Technical / Software Application Skills

• Computer Skills
• Confident use of AutoCAD (2D / 3D)
• Experience in Tekla Structures & Microstation (Preferable but not compulsory)
