The Design Engineer plays a crucial role within the organization, responsible for developing and enhancing products to meet market demands and industry standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring new concepts to life and optimize existing designs for improved performance and usability. Your key responsibilities will include conceptualizing and creating detailed design and engineering plans for new products or enhancements, utilizing CAD software to generate 2D and 3D models, prototypes, and detailed drawings. You will collaborate with the product development team to ensure that design concepts align with market requirements and production capabilities. Moreover, you will conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to evaluate the performance and potential impact of design proposals. Thorough testing and validation of prototypes will be necessary to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards. You are expected to contribute to cross-functional discussions, provide technical input on design-related issues and opportunities, and manage design documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and engineering change orders. Participation in design reviews to gather feedback and refine designs based on stakeholder input is crucial. Collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize product design for cost-effective production will be essential. Staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in design and engineering is also a part of your role. You will support the resolution of technical issues, provide guidance on design improvements throughout the product lifecycle, and lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and product performance. Additionally, you will assist in the development and maintenance of design standards, practices, and guidelines, and contribute to project management activities, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment for design projects. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, along with proven experience as a Design Engineer or in a similar role within the manufacturing or product development industry. Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools, is required. Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to tackle design challenges effectively. Experience with product testing, validation, interpretation of test results, design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) principles, and communication of complex technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams is necessary. Proven project management skills, familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications relevant to product design and development, adaptability, proactive learning approach, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively are all important qualities for this role.,
