Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle structures, frames, and chassis systems for electric vehicles used in off-road, agriculture, and industrial applications.
• Integrate hydraulic systems including cylinder layouts, valve placement, and load balancing for functional performance.
• Develop and optimize kinematic mechanisms for lifting, steering / articulation, and movement systems.
• Support gearbox design / selection, mechanical transmission integration, and drive system packaging.
• Generate 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams.
• Participate in prototype building, field testing, and iterative design validation.
• Ensure designs are aligned with industry standards, safety regulations, and reliability expectations.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in vehicle or machinery design (construction equipment, farming machinery, material movers, or automotive).
• Strong knowledge of:
• Structural design and mechanics
• Kinematic linkages and motion systems
• Proficiency in

  SolidWorks

  (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and field validation of mechanical systems.
• Design and develop SPMs, jigs, fixtures, and automation equipment using SolidWorks.
• Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Work closely with the manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Incorporate standard components (bearings, fasteners, linear guides, etc.) into designs.
• Perform tolerance stack-up, material selection, and cost-effective design practices.
• Support machine trials, testing, and provide design modifications if needed.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and industry standards.
• Maintain proper documentation of design revisions and project data.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (3D modeling, detailing, assembly).
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation systems (preferred).
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and convert them into design solutions.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
• 1-2 years of experience in SPM / Automation / Industrial Machinery design.
• Hands-on experience in fixture and jig design will be an added advantage.
• Experience in mechanical design, i.e., Concept design, Detail design, BOM preparation, sheet metal design & drawings etc.,,
• Experience in G D & T, Standard parts, fits and tolerance, creating fabrication drawings with manufacturing standards.
• experience: 4 -6 years in relevant field.
