Design Engineer

Responsibilities & Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Vision System Design and Development

• Design and develop vision systems for automation applications, including hardware selection, integration, and programming.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of vision systems into existing automation setups.
• Develop and optimize algorithms for image processing, pattern recognition, and defect detection using software tools such as Cognex, Keyence, or similar.
• Configure and program vision cameras, lighting systems, and other components to achieve desired performance metrics.
• Select appropriate vision systems based on application requirements.
• Use various vision tools for process optimization.

KPI:

System Integration

• Integrate vision systems with PLCs, HMIs, robotic systems, and other automation equipment to enable real-time decision-making and control.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Maintenance, Production, PT Production) for successful implementation.
• Work with vendors (Keyence, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Cognex) to ensure proper supply and technical support.

Programming and Configuration

• Commission systems as per the specification sheet of the machine with all Poka-Yoke and alarms.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of vision systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
• Develop test plans, execute tests, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to ensure smooth operation of automated systems.

KPI:

Optimization of Process and Maintenance Practices

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through the use of vision automation technologies.
• Optimize algorithms and system setup for better performance and reduced downtime.

Documentation and Training

• Create detailed documentation including system specifications, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Provide training and support to operators and maintenance personnel on the use and maintenance of vision systems.
• Maintain proper documentation for future reference.

Requirements

• Experience:

  38 years.

• Education:

  Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering (Overall academic score > 70%).

• Skills:

  • Technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and managerial abilities.
  • Machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Keyence, Cognex, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa systems.
