Design Associate

Role & responsibilities:

Operate and monitor 3D printing machines

Design and develop 3D objects/models based on 2D drawings, sketches, references, concept artworks or photographs, ensuring proper proportions, detailing, scale accuracy and printability

Work on basic design modifications and optimize models for 3D printing

Prepare print files, slicing settings, and material loading

Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting

Support post-processing: sanding, assembling, bonding, basic finishing

Plan machine workflow, estimate print times, and maintain material inventory

Ensure quality checks on printed parts and follow safety procedures

Preferred candidate profile:

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, or related field

Basic understanding of 3D printing technologies

Ability to work with CAD/STL/OBJ files and make minor design edits

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

Hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new fabrication techniques

Comfortable with operating machines, doing routine maintenance, and post-processing work

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Willingness to work in a model-making and fabrication environment
