Website: https://www.surinauto.com/ Job Title - Deputy Manager (PKM2/EN/11 Department- Engineering Location (with Pincode)- PKM2, Chennai, Tamil Nadu , India (PKM2) Experience- 6+ years Working Days -6 days (Alternate Saturdays off) Job Purpose To lead end-to-end new project development for boom arms and heavy fabrication sheet metal components, from concept design and engineering feasibility through prototype development, validation, process industrialization and successful production launch, ensuring quality, cost, delivery and customer requirements are met. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end new product and project development for boom arms and heavy fabrication sheet metal components, from concept design to production launch. Coordinate with customers, design teams, manufacturing, quality, sourcing and suppliers to ensure timely project execution. Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, material requirements and design feasibility. Drive DFM/DFA, process feasibility, tooling, fixtures, welding, robotic welding, machining and fabrication process development. Manage prototype development, sample submission, trials, validation, and customer approvals, including APQP, PPAP and FMEA documentation. Develop project timelines, milestones, resource plans and cost estimates; monitor progress and resolve technical bottlenecks. Ensure successful production handover, process capability, quality standards and readiness for mass production. Drive engineering change management, value engineering, cost optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, engineering standards, safety and manufacturing best practices. Qualification & Experience B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering. 8-12 years of experience in engineering, NPD or project management within the automotive, construction equipment or heavy fabrication industry. Strong experience in sheet metal fabrication, boom arms, welding processes, tooling, fixtures and new product industrialisation. Knowledge of CAD tools, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFM and project management methodologies.
