Job Description Manager / Deputy Manager, Business Excellence (KCL Sri City) Role purpose Khemka Containers Limited (KCL) is hiring a Manager / Deputy Manager Business Excellence at its Sri City unit, near Chennai, to be the hands-on engine of the KCL 2.0 transformation initiative. Sri City is the model unit for KCL's Organisation Transformation Programme. Over the next 12 months it will run value stream mapping, Lean projects, Kaizen and 5S, and a new management reporting and review system, supported by PROACT Management Consulting. The role holder will drive these initiatives day to day, own management reporting and analytics, and lead executive training at the unit. Once the Sri City model is established, the role will help roll the same concepts out to KCL's other units. It suits a young Lean practitioner who wants to build a career in world-class manufacturing and organisation transformation. Areas 14 are the focus during the Sri City model-unit phase; area 6 grows once the model is proven. 1. Coordinate the KCL 2.0 programme at Sri City o Maintain the unit's programme plan, action tracker and project charters; follow up owners to closure. o Prepare material for the monthly Apex / Steering Committee and unit reviews, and record decisions and actions.

o Work as the day-to-day counterpart to the PROACT team: organise diagnostics, workshops, data and meetings. 2. Drive Lean implementation on the shop floor o o o Support value stream mapping of the Sri City unit and run the VSM task force projects that follow. Launch and sustain Kaizen, 5S and TPM / autonomous maintenance, with audits, scores and recognition. Facilitate structured problem-solving (DMAIC / SGIA) teams on wastage, changeovers, downtime, quality and delivery; verify results with accounts. 3. Own MIS, reporting and analytics o o o Build and maintain unit dashboards and MIS from SAP / ERP data production, wastage, OTIF, quality, maintenance and cost. Assist management with comprehensive reporting and analytics, including cost and contribution analysis by product and customer. Run the review calendar and daily work management boards so that issues surface early. 4. Lead executive training o Plan and deliver the unit's training calendar on Lean, 5S, Kaizen, problem solving and review discipline. o Help develop internal trainers and keep training records and effectiveness checks. 5. Support new projects and operation design Assist management on layouts and operation design for new projects, lines and expansions, applying flow, line-balancing and industrial engineering principles. 6. Roll out to other units o o After the Sri City project, help roll out the concepts, standards and reporting formats to other KCL units. o Document standards, playbooks and lessons learnt so other units can replicate the model. How success will be measured In the first year, success means the Sri City model unit's mechanisms are running reliably; after that, it means results and replication. Numerical targets will be set with the Business Head once the Phase 1 baseline is available. Skills, competencies and qualifications KCL is looking for a practitioner trained in a strong manufacturing system who has implemented Lean on the shop floor and wants to grow into a transformation leader. Comparable Indian business excellence roles combine hands-on Kaizen, 5S, VSM, TPM and SMED with root cause analysis, training and KPI reporting (Dodhia Group JD; VelvetJobs). Work in business excellence or operations, with hands-on Lean implementation (Kaizen, 5S, TPM, etc.); process or industrial engineering exposure is also suitable. Preferred backgrounds: auto components, engineering / fabrication, or packaging. Qualifications ¢ ¢ Graduate or diploma in engineering (mechanical, production, industrial or equivalent). Desirable: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, TPM or 5S certification.
