Deputy Manager - Accounts & Finance

1. Financial Planning & Control

• Lead the factory finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations and reporting.
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, cost forecasts, and departmental expense reports.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, overheads, and cost variance to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Support management in decision-making through financial projections and cost-benefit analysis.
• Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with company accounting policies.

2. Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Track CAPEX and OPEX spending, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation treatment.
• Coordinate with the corporate finance team for group-level consolidation and MIS reporting.
• Facilitate internal, statutory, and tax audits, ensuring compliance and timely closure.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Manage GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance, including return filing, reconciliations, and assessments.
• Ensure timely payment and filing of statutory dues (GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, PT, etc.).
• Handle vendor and customer GST reconciliation, and ensure input tax credit (ITC) accuracy.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government departments for assessments, queries, and notices.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and audits.

4. Cash Flow & Fund Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and fund allocation to support daily operations.
• Supervise vendor payments, bank transactions, and petty cash management.
• Coordinate with banks for credit facilities, LC/BG issuance, and fund utilization tracking.
• Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity.

5. Costing & Inventory Management

• Oversee product costing, raw material consumption analysis, and yield tracking.
• Monitor inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Support production and procurement teams in maintaining cost efficiency.
• Review BOM (Bill of Material) and ensure accurate costing in ERP.

6. Strategic Business Support

• Partner with plant operations and supply chain teams to optimize financial performance.
• Support management in pricing strategies, new product feasibility, and investment planning.
• Provide financial insights and MIS reports to senior leadership for data-driven decisions.

7. Audit, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and internal control systems.
• Identify potential financial and operational risks and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal audit teams and ensure audit recommendations are implemented.

Core Skills & Attributes:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and statutory compliance.
• Expertise in taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax) and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling financial data.
• Ability to manage cross-functional coordination with production, procurement, and HR teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
