The role of creating the overall BIA People strategy is crucial for supporting auditors across all aspects of the people lifecycle to succeed in a high-performing and inclusive team. Collaborating closely with the GCIA, BIAs leadership team, Barclays stakeholders, and industry counterparts, you will define the strategy and lead its impactful implementation. This will involve presenting the strategy to various stakeholders, defining the implementation components, engaging with internal and external groups, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Your responsibilities will include assessing and optimizing BIAs operating model, refining people attraction strategies, designing and implementing the BIA Skills Framework, developing the BIA Learning Plan, and enhancing grade-aligned pathways. By owning these initiatives, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit function and ensure that auditors have the necessary skills to provide assurance in current and emerging areas. To excel in this role, you should have demonstrable experience in leading people programs and initiatives, particularly within the financial services sector. Your ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and manage through collaboration will be essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, will enable you to articulate ideas, present recommendations, and facilitate learning effectively. Additionally, your awareness of industry best practices and innovative problem-solving skills will be valuable assets in designing solutions to complex challenges. While not mandatory, possessing an internal audit relevant professional qualification and data analysis skills would be advantageous. These qualifications can further enhance your ability to drive effective program delivery, measure impact using data analytics, and contribute to the strategic goals of the internal audit function. Role Overview An exciting opportunity for a seasoned and passionate Diversity & Inclusion Leader to drive impactful strategies that create a more equitable, inclusive, and representative workplace. This role is instrumental in advancing gender diversity and the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PwDs) across corporate offices, retail environments, and supply chain hubs. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Vision Define and lead the organizations Diversity & Inclusion strategy aligned with core values and business goals. Set and drive short- and long-term goals to enhance gender balance and improve hiring and retention of PwDs. Benchmark and localize best practices from the retail and broader industries. Program Development & Implementation Design and roll out initiatives to improve female representation across levels—frontline, mid-management, and leadership. Drive inclusive hiring, onboarding, and career growth programs for PwDs, ensuring accessibility and support systems. Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to embed inclusive practices throughout the hiring process. Policy & Compliance Review, strengthen, and implement inclusive policies covering POSH, accessibility, accommodations, and employee benefits. Ensure compliance with local legal frameworks and alignment with global D&I benchmarks. Capability Building & Awareness Conduct D&I sensitization workshops and unconscious bias trainings for employees and leaders. Equip people managers with tools and knowledge to support inclusive decision-making and team dynamics. Partnerships & Advocacy Build partnerships with NGOs, skilling agencies, and government bodies to expand diverse talent sourcing. Represent the organization at external forums and industry panels, positioning it as an employer of choice for women and PwDs. Measurement & Reporting Define and monitor D&I metrics including representation, retention, promotion rates, and training outreach. Prepare periodic reports for leadership teams and board presentations. Candidate Profile In-depth understanding of gender equity and disability inclusion in the Indian business context. Proven experience in driving D&I strategies , training initiatives, policy formulation, and change management. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with accessibility standards for both physical and digital environments. Preferred Attributes Empathetic and inclusive mindset with cultural sensitivity. Ability to influence and engage with senior leadership and diverse teams. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-location, and people-intensive environment , including regular travel.
