DataStage Developer

Roles and Responsibilities:

ETL Development:
Design, develop, and implement complex ETL jobs using
IBM InfoSphere DataStage
to extract data from various source systems, transform it according to business rules, and load it into target data warehouses or data marts.
Requirements Analysis:
Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data integration requirements, source-to-target mappings, and data transformation logic.
Job Orchestration:
Develop and manage DataStage sequences and jobs for efficient scheduling and execution of data pipelines.
Performance Tuning:
Monitor DataStage job performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization techniques to ensure efficient data processing and timely data availability.
Troubleshooting:
Perform in-depth troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution for DataStage jobs, data quality issues, and connectivity problems.
Data Quality & Governance:
Implement data quality checks and contribute to data governance initiatives within the ETL processes.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for DataStage jobs, ETL processes, data flows, and design specifications.
Collaboration:
Work closely with database administrators, data architects, business users, and other development teams to ensure seamless data integration and successful project delivery.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

DataStage Expertise:
Strong hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and troubleshooting ETL jobs using
IBM InfoSphere DataStage
.
SQL Proficiency:
Excellent proficiency in
SQL
for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
Database Knowledge:
Familiarity with various relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) as source and target systems for ETL.
Data Warehousing Concepts:
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL methodologies.
Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to complex data integration challenges.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
