DataStage Developer

IBM InfoSphere DataStage

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL jobs using IBM DataStage.
• Work on data integration, transformation, and loading processes from multiple sources.
• Optimize ETL workflows and improve data performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform troubleshooting, error handling, and production support for ETL jobs.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across systems and environments.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to data governance and development standards.
  

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

• 68 years of hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage (v11.x or later).
• Strong understanding of ETL design principles, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling.
• Experience in SQL, Unix/Linux shell scripting, and job performance tuning.
• Knowledge of data quality, error handling, and metadata management.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Willingness to work Tuesday to Saturday, 6 AM 12 PM IST on a rotational basis.
  

Good To Have Skills

• Experience with Control-M or other job scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Basic understanding of data governance frameworks and data security practices.
