Job Description

Role: Data / Reporting Analyst (Mainframe Power BI Migration)

Location: India

Experience: 5+yrs

Notice period: Only 15-30days

Role Overview

The Reporting Analyst will analyze existing reports in mainframe, extract business and functional logic, and translate it into Power BI report specifications. This role interfaces between business SMEs, data engineers, and BI developers to ensure seamless migration and functional parity.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inventory and analysis of legacy mainframe reports.
Conduct business requirement workshops to capture KPIs, usage, and dependencies.
Reverse-engineer mainframe report logic (JCL, COBOL layouts, flat file structures).
Develop detailed Power BI specification documents with field mapping, DAX formulas, and visualization design.
Collaborate with Integration Analysts to align with Snowflake data structures.
Validate migrated Power BI reports against mainframe outputs for accuracy.
Support report rationalization and de-duplication initiatives.
Maintain traceability matrix from source to target.

Primary Skills:

Power BI report development + specification writing
Advanced SQL + data profiling
Mainframe (COBOL copybooks, VSAM, DB2, flat files)
Reverse-engineering mainframe reports
Requirement workshop facilitation
