Database Administrator

Role Overview: As a Database Administrator at GKM IT, you will be responsible for managing PostgreSQL databases along with Oracle and MySQL databases. Your primary focus will be on database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex performance problems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve database-related issues and optimize database performance. Key Responsibilities: - Diagnose and resolve database-related issues such as performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and prevent recurring issues. - Analyze and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings. - Administer, maintain, and monitor multiple database environments to ensure data integrity, security, and high availability. - Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database provisioning, deployments, and monitoring. - Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Work closely with developers, system administrators, and IT professionals to support application development and infrastructure initiatives. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator. - Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach. - Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration and management. - Proficient in Postgres database performance tuning. - Experience in heterogeneous migrations (from Oracle to Postgres/MySQL to Postgres). - Ability to develop stored procedures, perform load balancing, and ensure High Availability. - Proficient in backup and recovery in Community and EDB Postgres. - Thorough understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques. - Experience managing operations on core and cloud-based infrastructures. - Good knowledge of EDB database tools like Barman, EFM, etc.,
