Job Description

Plan and execute
major version upgrades
for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL 9.x/10.x 15.x/16.x; MySQL 5.x 8.x).
Perform
database migrations
using tools like
pg_upgrade
,
logical replication
,
dump/restore
, and other optimized approaches.
Optimize performance and ensure high availability through proactive monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
Design and implement
replication
,
backup
, and
disaster recovery
strategies.
Work closely with application teams to rewrite or refactor
stored procedures
,
functions
, and
database logic
(PL/pgSQL, SQL/PSM).
Manage
multi-terabyte database environments
, ensuring scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
Assess migration risks and define rollback strategies to ensure smooth version upgrades with minimal downtime.
