As a Data Steward at BP Business Solutions India, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and governance of our data assets. You will play a crucial role in maintaining robust data management practices that support business objectives and enable effective decision-making.Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Perform data analysis to identify inconsistencies, errors, and areas for improvement, implementing data cleansing and transformation activities as needed.
- Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data accuracy and completeness across various domains.
- Manage data integration efforts, including Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, to consolidate data from diverse sources.
- Support the development and execution of data sourcing strategies, ensuring timely and reliable access to essential data.
- Apply advanced data manipulation techniques to prepare data for analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Contribute to the overall data strategy and governance framework, advocating for best practices and continuous improvement.
- Utilize data visualization and interpretation skills to present complex data insights clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
- Ensure data security and compliance with digital security protocols, protecting sensitive information throughout its lifecycle.
- Participate in group problem-solving sessions to address data-related challenges and optimize data processes.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex data concepts into actionable insights.
Job Qualifications
- Must have skills : Strong knowledge of reservoir engineering data and workflows (depletion planning, surveillance, reserves estimation, simulation inputs/outputs)
- Must have - Experience in data stewardship: QC, governance, metadata, versioning.
- Must have - Collaboration skills to bridge reservoir engineers, petrophysicists, and digital teams.
- Nice to have - Proficiency in Python/SQL for data wrangling and automation.
- Nice to have - Hands-on skills in Palantir Foundry (data pipelines, dashboards, ontology).
- Nice to have - Experience with Azure Databricks (SQL, PySpark, Delta Lake).
- Experience in a data-related role, demonstrating strong commercial skill and understanding of business impact.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts.
- Extensive experience with data analysis techniques and tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in data cleansing and transformation processes.
- In-depth data domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector or large enterprise environments.
- Understanding and experience with data integration principles and ETL processes.
- Strong background in data management best practices and methodologies.
- Proficiency in data manipulation techniques and tools.
- Experience with data sourcing strategies and implementation.
- Familiarity with data strategy and governance frameworks.
- A strong portfolio showcasing data visualization and interpretation skills.
- Understanding of digital security principles and data protection regulations.
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to group problem-solving.
