DATA SCIENTIST

As a Staff Data Scientist at Walmart, you will play a crucial role in the GLAD team under FDF-DS, where you will help monitor General Ledger (GL) account balances, identify anomalies, support detailed variance analysis, and streamline financial reporting processes. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software engineers to design, architect, build, and deploy AI/ML models and systems. You will also be involved in developing end-to-end system architecture for GenAI/AI/ML applications, constructing multi-agent intelligent workflows, mentoring junior team members, and working with product managers to design user journeys and analyze user telemetry. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop AI/ML models and systems - Design end-to-end system architecture for GenAI/AI/ML applications - Mentor junior data scientists to develop their skills and business understanding - Develop and deploy production-grade real-time/batch machine learning services - Work with product managers to design user journeys and analyze user telemetry - Identify and propose AI/ML use-cases to improve business processes - Maintain robust work standards to ensure trustworthy AI/ML solutions - Collaborate with researchers to refine ML models and MLOps practices Qualifications Required: - 9+ years" experience in developing scalable GenAI/AI/ML products and applications - Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field - Extensive experience in Python code development and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, LightGBM, and Hugging Face Transformers - Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems - Proficiency in statistical modeling, time series forecasting, and optimization techniques - Experience in productionizing models using MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, FastAPI, or Streamlit - Strong mentorship and communication skills - Familiarity with version control using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes About Walmart Global Tech: Walmart Global Tech is a team of experts in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and service professionals within the retail industry.
