Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of propensity and next-best-action models to support cross-sell, upsell, acquisition, churn, and retention initiatives.
  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, transformation, and analysis on large, complex datasets to ensure data quality and usability.
  • Apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including logistic/linear regression, random forests, XGBoost/LightGBM, clustering, PCA/UMAP, and anomaly detection methods.
  • Execute feature engineering, model evaluation, interpretability (e.g., SHAP/LIME), and monitoring (e.g., drift detection, stability, calibration).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize and automate models using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and job orchestration tools.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 4-10+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, wrangling, and statistical modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (mandatory).
  • Working knowledge of SAS (optional, but a plus).
  • Solid understanding of inferential statistics, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
  • Proven experience in AI/ML modeling and deployment for business use cases.
  • Domain experience in Banking or FinTech is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with model interpretability, drift detection, and model performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with MLOps tools and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Exposure to data storytelling and executive presentations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex results for non-technical audiences.
