Data Scientist

Role Overview: As a member of the New Analytics Team at Indian School of Business, located in Hyderabad, you will play a crucial role in understanding business processes and data to create impactful analytics solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include building predictive models, recommendation engines, and analyzing data to discover actionable insights for business use. You will collaborate with various teams to collect, clean, and process large volumes of data, applying state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to enhance business processes" efficiency and effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand and collect data. - Collect, clean, process, and transform large volumes of tabular data, including numerical, categorical, and text data. - Apply data preparation techniques such as filtering, joining, cleaning, imputation, feature extraction, engineering, selection, and more. - Implement basic algorithms like linear regression, logistic regression, KNN, clustering, SVM, decision trees, and more. - Utilize ensemble modeling algorithms like Random Forest, GBM, LGBM, XGBoost, CatBoost, and others. - Apply modeling concepts like hyperparameter optimization, feature selection, cross-validation, and more. - Build predictive models using machine learning techniques for regression, classification, clustering, recommendation engines, etc. - Perform advanced analytics on business data to identify hidden patterns, insights, and make strategic recommendations. Qualification Required: - BE/B.Tech in any stream. Specific Skills: - Strong expertise in Python libraries like Pandas and Scikit Learn. - Experience with Python editors like PyCharm and Jupyter Notebooks. - Ability to organize code into modules, functions, and objects. - Knowledge of basic SQL for querying and Excel for data analysis. - Understanding of statistics concepts and familiarity with using ChatGPT, LLMs, and out-of-the-box models for data preparation. - Kaggle experience and familiarity with R. Desirable Experience: - Minimum 4 years of experience solving business problems through data analytics and modeling. - At least 2 years of experience as a full-time Data Scientist. - Experience with at least 3 projects in ML model building used in production.
