What Youll Own As Backend Product Lead, you will be at the intersection of business logic, platform strategy, and backend system capabilities, managing products that fuel: Recommendation & Personalization Systems Universal Search Feeds (XML, MRSS, JSON) for content syndication CMS & Content Workflow Management AI & Automation Initiatives aligned with streaming workflows Reporting, Metadata Enrichment, and Internal APIs Key Responsibilities Define the vision, roadmap, and KPIs for backend-driven product features. Translate complex business needs into scalable, developer-friendly product requirements. Lead the development and launch of backend systems powering recommendation, search, CMS, and partner integrations. Collaborate with Engineering, Data, Editorial, and Distribution teams to ensure high performance and reliability. Drive API product design across internal and third-party use cases. Champion backend product initiatives that directly impact viewer engagement, content discovery, and operational efficiency . Leverage AI and automation to streamline content ingestion, metadata handling, and personalization. What You Bring 6+ years in product management, with 3+ focused on backend or platform products . Deep understanding of APIs, feeds (XML/MRSS/JSON), microservices , and cloud architecture. Experience working with OTT platforms, AVOD/FAST channel ecosystems . Experience working with recommendation engines, search systems, CMS , or similar infrastructure in content/media tech. Strong collaboration with tech leads, engineers, and cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills. Familiarity with AI/ML applications in media/streaming is a strong plus.
