Position: SQL Developer / Data Engineer (T-SQL + Python + Power BI)

SQL Developer / Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. SQL Development (Primary Responsibility)

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL stored procedures, triggers, views, user-defined functions, and ETL scripts.
• Reverse- engineer, refactor, and optimize legacy SQL code for performance and readability.
• Work with large datasets, transactional systems, and analytical data models.
• Ensure database performance tuning, query optimization, indexes, and execution plans.
• Troubleshoot data issues, integrity problems, and performance bottlenecks.

2. Python Automation & Scripting

• Build Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, validation, and API/Google Sheet integrations.
• Automate recurring reports, email notifications, and monitoring processes.
• Connect Python with SQL Server using pyodbc or SQLAlchemy.
• Manage data pipelines and scheduled job workflows.

3. Reporting & Power BI

• Develop basic to intermediate Power BI dashboards, DAX calculations, and layout improvements.
• Connect BI reports with SQL datasets, stored procedures, or Python pipelines.
• Work with stakeholders to enhance visualizations and KPIs.

4. Data Quality & Documentation

• Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and auditability.
• Document business rules, data flows, and logic behind SQL/Python solutions.
• Adhere to versioning and change-control practices (Git preferred).

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong T-SQL

  skills (must have)
• Complex Joins, CTEs, Window Functions
• Advanced Stored Procedures
• Query tuning, indexing, execution plans

• Python automation

• Pandas, openpyxl, smtplib, API calls, pyodbc
• Data cleansing & pipeline scripting

• Basic Power BI / DAX

  (nice to have but not heavy)
• Experience with:
• SQL Server
• Data warehousing concepts
• ETL frameworks
• JSON/XML handling
• Git (preferred)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical mindset and detail orientation.
• Ability to understand complex business logic and convert it into optimized code.
• Self-driven, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Task scheduler, SQL Agent).
• Experience with REST APIs / integrations.
• Power Automate understanding.
• Exposure to Azure SQL / cloud pipelines.
