Data Conversion Test Lead / ETL Test Lead

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Data Conversion Test Lead / ETL Test Lead to lead testing efforts for large-scale data migration and ETL projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in validating data transformations, data integrity, and migration processes, with the ability to manage teams and ensure test quality across multiple phases of the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Lead testing for data conversion, migration, and ETL processes across multiple source and target systems. Analyze data mapping and transformation rules and translate them into comprehensive test cases and validation scenarios. Define test strategies and plans for data migration validation, including row-level and column-level comparisons, data quality checks, and exception handling. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data architects to understand source-to-target mappings. Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes to ensure accuracy and completeness. Develop and execute complex SQL queries for backend data validation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams during SIT, UAT, and production validation phases. Track defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Document and report testing progress, risks, and metrics to stakeholders and leadership. Mentor junior team members and enforce testing best practices. Required Skills: Proven experience as a Test Lead for data migration, conversion, and ETL testing projects. Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, or equivalent. Excellent SQL skills for data validation, profiling, and reconciliation. Experience in handling large volumes of data and performance testing of ETL jobs. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance. Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Client ALM. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Nice to Have: Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery). Exposure to automation frameworks for data validation. Knowledge of industry-specific data models (Finance, Healthcare, Insurance, etc.). ISTQB or similar testing certification. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. ",
