Job Description

Job Title: Data Centre Engineer Server Support

Job Summary

Data Centre Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, racking, stacking, and cabling of

    rack & blade servers

  • Configure

    RAID, BIOS, firmware

    , and basic server settings
  • Perform

    server health monitoring

    and respond to alerts/incidents
  • Troubleshoot

    hardware failures

    (HDD, RAM, PSU, motherboard, NIC)
  • Coordinate with

    OEM vendors (HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco)

    for RMA and break-fix
  • Perform

    OS installation

    (Windows Server / Linux – basic level)
  • Monitor data centre environment (power, cooling, temperature)
  • Maintain

    server inventory, asset tracking, and documentation

  • Support

    patching, firmware upgrades

    , and scheduled maintenance
  • Follow

    SOPs, ITIL processes

    , and data centre safety standards
  • Work in

    247 shift / rotational shifts

    if required

Technical Skills Required

  • Hands-on experience with

    HPE / Dell / Lenovo servers

  • Knowledge of

    RAID levels (0,1,5,10)

    and disk configuration
  • Basic understanding of

    Windows Server / Linux OS

  • Familiar with

    iLO / iDRAC / IMM

    remote management tools
  • Understanding of

    data centre cabling standards

  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN, NIC, switch connectivity)
  • Exposure to

    VMware / Hyper-V

    (basic understanding preferred)

Soft Skills

  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in production environments
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Willingness to work in shifts and on-call support

Preferred / Good to Have

  • OEM server certifications (HPE / Dell / Lenovo)
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Exposure to

    backup or storage systems

    (basic level)
