Data Center Operations Manager

As an Operations Technician at Google, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure supporting Google's search technology. Your role will involve installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and server software. You will also be involved in the configuration of complex networking components and protocols. While the job may involve manual movement and installation of racks, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge computer technology. Key Responsibilities: - Manage a team to ensure quality installation of server hardware and components - Coordinate installations and troubleshooting activities across multiple sites - Lead small project teams on larger installations and develop contingency plans - Drive the development of localized designs, supporting procurement, construction, commissioning, and hand-off to the Operations Team - Establish and maintain delivery models and global relationships with vendors, measuring KPIs and metrics - Develop growth plans and lead talent recruitment initiatives, delivering onboarding programs for new team members - Identify, select, and onboard new regional contractors and vendors to enhance the current bench - Resolve project delivery issues through proactive problem-solving engagement Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience - 10 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments - 3 years of experience in developing and managing managers - Experience with project and vendor management Preferred Qualifications: - Experience managing construction projects in an international working environment or with commercial agreement management and procurement - Experience in the mission critical sector - Experience in managing vendor relationships in the design and construction industry About the Company: Google's Hardware Operations team is dedicated to monitoring the physical infrastructure supporting Google's search technology.
