Role Title: Data Architect

Role Description : We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Data Architect to help shape the future of our data landscape – across both our software products and internal enterprise systems.

This role combines strategic architecture with practical data design and implementation – defining a modern data model, guiding best practices in data management, and enabling our teams to maximise the value and reusability of our data.

You will play a key role in helping us understand our current data structures, define a cohesive and future-ready data architecture, and introduce standards that support scalability, compliance, and innovation across our multi-tenant product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Data architecture and modelling

o Analyse and document the current data model across products and platforms

o Define a modern, future-ready data architecture that supports scalability, interoperability, and reuse across customer environments (including multi-tenant data models)

o Develop and maintain canonical and conceptual data models, supporting common understanding across teams

o Work with product teams to ensure data models support both functional needs and data governance principles

• Data management and best practice

o Establish and champion data management best practices, covering data quality, naming conventions, lineage, and lifecycle management

o Promote standards for metadata management, master data management (MDM), and reference data

o Define and advocate for data governance frameworks aligned to business priorities and regulatory requirements

o Help teams implement best practices through hands-on demonstration, prototype data models, and reusable design patterns

• Collaboration and enablement

o Work closely with architects, product managers, and engineering leads to embed sound data design principles into products and services

o Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to align data definitions, semantics, and business rules

o Mentor and upskill developers and analysts in data architecture, modelling tools, and practices

o Support architecture governance through participation in the Architecture Review Board and related forums

About You

• Essential skills and experience

o Proven experience as a Data Architect, Senior Data Modeller, or Data Engineering Lead in a complex software or SaaS environment.

o Deep understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling

o Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases technologies (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

o Strong grasp of multi-tenant data architectures, data isolation, and schema design for configurable solutions

o Experience designing and maintaining enterprise or product-level data models

o Working knowledge of data integration patterns, APIs, and ETL/ELT processes

o Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK) and metadata management concepts

o Strong communication and collaboration skills – able to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders

• Desirable Skills

o Exposure to data lakes, data mesh, or domain-driven design for data

o Experience in the pharmaceutical, scientific, or regulated industries

o Knowledge of data visualisation and analytics platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)

o Experience working in cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

o Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance considerations (GDPR, ISO standards)
