Data Architect

• Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards
• Ensure that standard architecture decisions are implemented consistently across business and IT in order to support the business and IT strategy
• This includes researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering IT architecture solutions that are appropriate for the business and IT strategies in one or more domains
• Takes responsibility for technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications
• Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings
• Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
• Requires in-depth knowledge and experience
• Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
• Works independently; receives minimal guidance
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members

Education/Work Experience

• Degree in technical area and ten years work experience. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.
  

Independence Level/Reports to

•  Acts independently under general direction. Errors may cause significant disruption to operations or major costs. Normally reports to Sr. Manager.
