Cutting - AM / Manager

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Target Achievement

• Plan, allocate, and monitor cutting schedules in alignment with production and shipment deadlines.
  
• Ensure achievement of daily/weekly/monthly cutting targets with minimum fabric wastage.
  
• Coordinate with planning, merchandising, and production teams for smooth workflow and timely execution.
  

Operational Excellence

• Oversee marker planning, fabric inspection, spreading, and cutting operations to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  
• Ensure optimal fabric utilization through improved marker efficiency, minimizing end-bit loss, and effective use of cut planning systems (e.g.,

  CAD

  ).
• Monitor fabric consumption versus standard consumption and take corrective actions.
  
• Implement lean practices, continuous improvement projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
  

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to quality standards at every stage of the cutting process.
  
• Maintain compliance with buyer requirements, company SOPs, and safety standards.
  
• Conduct regular audits on cutting quality, fabric inspection, and shrinkage control.
  
• Implement corrective and preventive measures to reduce rejections and defects.
  

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, supervise, and develop the cutting team, ensuring skills development and succession planning.
  
• Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide training to operators and supervisors.
  
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  

Systems & Reporting

• Manage cutting department documentation, reports, and records accurately.
  
• Monitor and report on fabric reconciliation, utilization, and wastage analysis.
  
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of cutting equipment and CAD systems.
  
• Collaborate with production, QA, IE (Industrial Engineering), and maintenance teams for effective operations.
  

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Achievement of cutting targets vs. plan.
  
• Fabric utilization efficiency & YY savings.
  
• On-Time Delivery

  (OTD)

  to sewing lines.
• Cutting quality (defect/rejection rates).
  
• Department efficiency & productivity levels.
  
• Team development and attrition rates.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors degree/diploma in Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or related field.
  
• 812 years of relevant experience in cutting operations within apparel manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  
• Strong knowledge of cutting room processes,

  CAD/CAM

  systems, marker making, and fabric characteristics.
