Culinary Associate (Halwai)

The position involves preparing ingredients for cooking, such as portioning, chopping, and storing food, washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, as well as cooking food in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and presentation requirements. Cold food preparation is also part of the role, along with operating various kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Testing cooked foods for readiness, monitoring food quality, setting up and breaking down workstations, and serving food in appropriate portions are key responsibilities. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment, as well as verifying appliance and food temperatures, is essential. Adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and reporting procedures for maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions is mandatory. Maintaining a professional appearance, respecting confidentiality, and communicating effectively with colleagues are important aspects of the role. Developing positive relationships within the team, supporting common goals, and addressing employee concerns appropriately are emphasized. Upholding quality expectations and standards, along with physical requirements like standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and handling objects up to 25 pounds independently, are part of the job. Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned by supervisors is expected. The preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), at least one year of relevant work experience, and no prior supervisory experience or specific licenses/certifications required.
