Crowd (DNEG Animation)

As an FX Artist, you play a crucial role in creating complex crowd shots using vignette and simulation techniques. Working closely with the Creature Supervisor and DFX Supervisors, you aim to achieve the desired look, movement, and style in alignment with the VFX Supervisor and Director's vision. Your responsibilities include developing photorealistic crowd simulations by utilizing a variety of 3D assets from different departments and employing software like Houdini and Maya along with custom pipeline tools. Your key qualifications should include a solid understanding of crowd simulation software such as Houdini (preferably Massive, Golaem, or similar programs), a proven track record in producing crowd simulations with attention to detail and timing, and a comprehensive grasp of techniques and technologies related to physical simulation in computer graphics. Additionally, you should be adept at problem-solving, capable of maintaining quality under time constraints, and possess a blend of artistic and technical skills. While not mandatory, programming or scripting skills (e.g., MEL, Python, Hscript, VEX) and experience in live-action VFX Crowd work would be advantageous. Familiarity with Houdini, Massive, Maya, or equivalent 3D software, compositing skills, a general TD background, and a strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems are desirable. The ideal candidate for this role would be organized, proactive, and a self-starter with excellent teamwork and communication skills. You should demonstrate a positive attitude towards work, be approachable and personable, willing to learn new skills and techniques (including proprietary software), and able to work well under pressure to meet production deadlines.
