CRASH DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

As a Crash Test Engineer at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, your role involves planning, conducting, and analyzing vehicle crash tests to ensure the safety of vehicles and contribute to the development of safer cars for customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and implementing crash test programs to evaluate vehicle safety features and systems. - Coordinating with design and development teams to integrate safety requirements into vehicle designs. - Setting up and conducting various crash tests such as frontal, side, rear, and rollover tests according to industry standards. - Analyzing crash test data to evaluate vehicle performance and safety component effectiveness. - Utilizing high-speed data acquisition systems and video analysis tools for data capture and analysis. - Preparing detailed crash test reports and suggesting design improvements. - Working with suppliers to develop and validate new safety features. - Staying updated with global safety regulations and industry best practices. - Collaborating with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety standards. - Supporting the development of computational models for crash simulations. - Participating in post-crash analysis and vehicle teardowns to study crash effects on vehicle structures. - Contributing to the enhancement of test procedures and methodologies. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience in automotive design/evaluation or a related field. - Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, crashworthiness, and occupant protection systems. - Proficiency in data analysis and crash simulation software. - Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - Flexibility to work odd hours as some crash tests may be conducted outside regular business hours. Preferred skills for this position may include experience with high-speed cameras and data acquisition systems, familiarity with industry standards such as NCAP, FMVSS, and Euro NCAP, knowledge of vehicle repair and reconstruction following crash tests, and certification in crash test dummy instrumentation and calibration. In terms of working conditions, you can expect to work in a combination of office settings and high-energy test environments. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory when on the test floor, and some travel may be required for conferences, training, or collaboration with external testing facilities.,
