Crane Operator (Dockside)

As a Crane Operator, your role involves operating the crane in a safe manner and complying with the WSH ACT. You are responsible for following instructions from Supervisors and Foremans to ensure quality work is achieved safely within the stipulated completion time. It is essential for you to attend risk assessment briefings before starting work and adhere to the mentioned safe work procedures. Your primary focus should be on ensuring personal safety and the safety of others by following rules and regulations diligently and inspiring others to do the same. Key Responsibilities: - Understand job requirements before commencing work - Enquire with your superior if you have any doubts or concerns regarding safety and quality issues - Strictly follow all steps in risk assessments and attend the RA briefing before starting work - Maintain good housekeeping at all times - Cooperate with other trades for sequential workflow and smoother job completion within the given schedule - Contribute ideas to improve working methods - Ensure that tools and equipment are well-maintained and in good condition - Conduct routine checks on the crane before, during, and after operations - Observe safe working procedures - Report any unsafe working conditions and practices - Report any work-related incidents or accidents promptly Qualifications Required: - Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience - ITE qualification or above in Mechanical Engineering Discipline or equivalent - Knowledge in lifting operations - General knowledge of ships - Experience in working on new building or repair vessels - Familiarity with shipyard safety rules, regulations, and MOM requirements In addition to the job requirements and responsibilities, you should have a good understanding of the WSH Act and be committed to working in compliance with it.
