Costing/ Design with Govt Liasoning Exp Person Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Cost and Design Engineer who possesses a strong background in both technical quoting for AB Cable and AAC products and proven liaisoning skills with government departments. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing competitive tender proposals, optimizing product designs for cost-effectiveness, and navigating the complexities of government procurement processes to secure new business and accelerate our market presence. This role is critical for our rapid growth trajectory, and we expect the successful candidate to significantly reduce our learning curve in the competitive landscape. Key Responsibilities: 1. Tender & Quoting Management: Analyze complex tender documents (RFQs, RFPs) from government agencies and other potential clients to understand technical specifications, commercial terms, and compliance requirements for AB Cable and AAC products. Prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for all components of AB Cable and AAC projects, including raw materials, manufacturing processes, labor, overheads, transportation, and contingencies. Develop comprehensive and technically sound bid proposals, ensuring adherence to tender specifications and industry standards (e.g., IS, IEC). Collaborate closely with the production and procurement teams to obtain updated material costs, production efficiencies, and lead times. Identify cost-saving opportunities through design optimization, alternative material sourcing, and process improvements without compromising quality or compliance. Present clear and concise technical and commercial proposals to management for review and approval. 2. Design & Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical guidance on AB Cable and AAC designs, ensuring they meet tender requirements, relevant industry standards, and optimize performance and cost. Evaluate and recommend appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for various cable and conductor configurations. Stay updated on the latest advancements in AB Cable and AAC technology, materials, and manufacturing techniques to ensure our offerings remain competitive and innovative. Assist in the development of product specifications, data sheets, and technical documentation. 3. Government Liaisoning & Business Development: Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with key officials and departments within relevant government agencies (e.g., State Electricity Boards, PWD, Rural Electrification Corporation, Power Grid Corporation of India, etc.). Proactively identify upcoming government tenders and opportunities related to AB Cable and AAC procurement. Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and negotiations with government clients. Understand and navigate government procurement policies, procedures, and bureaucratic processes effectively. Facilitate smooth communication and information exchange between the company and government departments. Provide insights into government procurement trends and strategies to inform business development initiatives. 4. Strategic Growth & Mentorship: Act as a key strategic advisor to the leadership team on market trends, competitor analysis, and government procurement strategies. Contribute significantly to the company's growth by securing new orders and expanding our client base. Share extensive industry knowledge and experience to mentor junior team members and accelerate the organizational learning curve. Develop and implement best practices for tender management, cost estimation, and government liaisoning. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5-8+ years of progressive experience in cost estimation, design, and tendering for AB Cables and AACs. Demonstrable experience and a proven track record of successful liaisoning with various government departments and securing government tenders. In-depth knowledge of relevant Indian and International Standards (e.g., IS, IEC) for AB Cables and AACs. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for AB Cables and AACs. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in cost estimation. Proficient in using relevant software for design, costing, and proposal generation (e.g., CAD software, MS Office Suite, ERP systems). Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong business acumen. A strong network within government procurement circles for electrical infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
