Cost Accounting Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Develop cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Prepare detailed style-wise cost analyses and reports on a regular basis.
• Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, merchandising and other departments to ensure accurate cost data.
• Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize expenses.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to costing.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with relevant cost information.
• Conduct cost audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to junior costing staff.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CMA, CA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a related role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in cost accounting software and SAP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
