Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate manufacturing costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and cost standards.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into cost discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor and analyze raw material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Implement cost control measures and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain and update standard costing and pricing models.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliation of cost accounts.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and production teams to improve cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CA, CPA) is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (tally, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cost optimization projects.
• Understanding of financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis.
• Knowledge of tax implications on cost structures.
