Job Description

As a Corporate Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading and implementing comprehensive Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs across construction and O&M sites. Your role will involve championing a proactive safety culture, driving continuous improvement in safety performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will need to develop, implement, and oversee robust safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety mindset among employees and contractors. Key Responsibilities: - Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement based on international best practices. - Ensure compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and stay informed about IFC, World Bank, and ADB EHS requirements. Manage inspections, permits, and documentation accordingly. - Oversee safety training, site inductions, and toolbox talks following globally recognized EHS principles. - Conduct regular site audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions using international risk management frameworks. - Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures aligned with global best practices. - Monitor environmental compliance in terms of waste, emissions, and sustainability while adhering to IFC, World Bank, and ADB environmental guidelines. - Develop emergency response plans, coordinate with local services, and consider international emergency preparedness standards. - Report EHS performance to leadership, aligning objectives with project teams and contractors, potentially benchmarking against international standards. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA are highly valued. - Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. - Experience in multi-site construction EHS management.
