Job Description

Job Summary:

A Coolgen Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications using IBM's Coolgen (also known as IEF - Integrated Engineering Facility) for automated code generation and enterprise application development. The developer works on creating efficient business applications, primarily for mainframe or distributed environments, by leveraging Coolgen's model-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, customize, and maintain enterprise applications using Coolgen
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design using Coolgen tools
Generate and optimize COBOL, DB2, or other code through Coolgen models
Work on debugging, testing, and performance tuning of Coolgen-generated applications
Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and other developers for application delivery
Participate in upgrades and migration activities related to Coolgen environments
Document design, code changes, and technical processes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Experience working with Coolgen (IBM IEF) for application development
Knowledge of COBOL, DB2, or relational databases is a plus
Understanding of mainframe and distributed systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile or other software development methodologies
Familiarity with other IBM development tools or enterprise software platforms
