Job Description

Position Summary:

The Panel Wiring and Cable Harness Soldering Technician will be responsible for electrical panel wiring, cable harness assembly, soldering, crimping, and testing activities related to automation and motion control systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in electrical assembly, attention to detail, and good understanding of wiring layouts and schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out panel wiring as per electrical layout drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform soldering and crimping of connectors, terminals, and wires with precision.
  • Assemble and route cable harnesses for servo systems, sensors, motors, and control panels.
  • Identify and use proper wire gauges, ferrules, sleeves, and lugs.
  • Ensure neat and standardized wiring practices following electrical safety norms.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting electrical panels before dispatch.
  • Maintain documentation of wiring changes and test reports.
  • Follow ESD and safety procedures in the workshop.
  • Coordinate with design and production teams for assembly feedback and improvements.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of control panel wiring, industrial connectors, and servo system connections.
  • Strong soldering and cable assembly skills (IPC/industry standard preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Familiarity with automation components such as relays, contactors, drives, controllers, and sensors.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and workmanship quality.

Education & Experience:

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in panel wiring / harness assembly / soldering in an automation, SPM, or control panel company.
  • Freshers with good practical skills and training will also be considered.

Work Environment:

  • Workshop-based, hands-on role.
  • Exposure to servo drives, motion controllers, robots and automation panels.
  • Occasional field support during machine trials or installations.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience and skill level.
