Consultant Pediatrician

Job description:

As Fulltime Pediatric & Neonatal Consultant, apart from medical management of the babies in the ICU, wards and ER, you would be responsible for

• Your duty timings will be as per the duty roster.
• You are also required to do monthly 6–7-night duties and timings will be 5pm to 8am and day duty timings will be 9:00am to 5:30pm

3. For night duty you will be taking post duty off (no compensatory off will be given)

• During your duty you need to counsel the parents appropriately, run the inpatient rounds in the ICU & WARDS and attend ER calls and also retrievals.

5. As a qualified neonatologist you will be required to take care of the NICU, antenatal counselling, attend high risk deliveries, bedside procedures, neonatal transport, co-ordinate with referring hospitals, discharges, postnatal care and follow up.

6. You will be working as part of the team in paediatric ICU and actively practice hospital protocols and learn advanced bedside procedures.

7. You will be taking care of the inpatient services for children admitted in the ward.

8. You are expected to attend to OPD including developmental paediatrics clinic, special needs follow up clinic during your duty hours.

9. Emergency Care Department & Transport Services

10. Post Natal & Pediatric Ward Rounds along with afternoon & night duty resident pediatrician

11. Co-ordinating the whole TEAM for effective functioning of the ICU and hospital as a whole

12. During your duty you need to counsel the parents appropriately, run the In-patient Rounds atleast twice daily in the ICU & Wards and attend ER Calls

13. Actively and regularly attend and involve yourself in the weekly teaching program

14. You will be comprehensively required to cover the ICU’S +Wards +ER + OPD in Little Stars Children’s Hospital

15. Long term and Mutal Commitement from Hospital, ICU team and you is absolutely essential for this Mutual consent from both sides

16. We all should work in unison with each other, nursing staff and all the paramedical hospital support staff to provide the best possible care to all the concerned patients

17. During your employment with Little Stars Children’s Hospital, you shall work full time and refrain from undertaking any part time work or assignment of consultation etc., for any other organization

When the Hospital and ICU are especially busy, you as In-charge consultant, would be needed to step in and ensure that all the concerned doctors, nurses and paramedical staff work accordingly and mutually share the responsibilities so as to ensure the smooth functioning of the ICU and the hospital as a whole
