Consultant Neurologist
On-site, IndiaRole & Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist outpatient and inpatient neurology consultations and lead bedside assessments for complex neurological cases.
- Manage acute stroke patients including rapid evaluation, decision-making for IV thrombolysis, and coordination with endovascular teams and stroke unit workflows.
- Perform and interpret neurodiagnostic proceduresEEG, EMG/NCSand correlate findings with clinical management plans.
- Carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as lumbar punctures and supervise neurophysiology testing and reporting.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, tumour boards, and neurorehabilitation planning to optimise continuity of care.
- Contribute to clinical governance: maintain accurate medical records, participate in audits, and support quality-improvement initiatives and teaching activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Neurology (or equivalent) and active registration with the National/State Medical Council.
- Proven competence in acute stroke management including administration of IV thrombolysis.
- Hands-on experience with EEG and EMG/NCS interpretation.
- Skills in neuroimaging interpretation (CT and MRI brain) relevant to clinical decision-making.
- Competence in performing lumbar puncture and managing cerebrospinal fluid diagnostics.
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and maintain clinical documentation and audit standards.
Preferred
- Fellowship or additional training in Stroke, Neurocritical Care, or Neuromuscular disorders.
- Experience with tele-neurology services or EMR/clinical workflow systems.
- Prior involvement in academic teaching, clinical research or quality-improvement projects.
