Construction Project Accountant

Seeking a Project Accountant with a solid background in construction accounting to support project management teams with financial oversight, reporting, subcontractor coordination, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong grasp of overall project goals. You will collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, lenders, and accounting to ensure smooth financial operations. It will be your responsibility to interpret and apply contract terms relevant to accounting and compliance. You will support all phases of project setup and close-out, ensuring proper record-keeping. Additionally, you will review, code, and process subcontractor/supplier invoices with Project Managers and assist in preparing monthly billing, updating schedules of values, and managing owner change orders. Tracking all schedule of value changes and contingency usage with appropriate documentation will also be part of your tasks. Managing lien waivers and maintaining accurate lien/pre-lien records, monitoring subcontractor insurance and license status for compliance, and processing and coding expense reports accurately and promptly are also key responsibilities. The qualifications for this role include a minimum of 5+ years of construction accounting experience, a strong analytical mindset, and attention to detail. You should be proficient in company systems and policy adherence, able to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high-quality results. As a self-starter with sound judgment, you should have the initiative to seek guidance when needed. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required, and familiarity with construction accounting tools like Timberline and Textura is a plus. This is a full-time job with an 8-hour shift, day shift, Monday to Friday work schedule. The work location is in person.,
